I had a private with my black belt today and a very good friend and brown belt was my uke. We had this exact conversation. Somewhere there’s a dirty tarp on the ground in some east block country where two guys who have never heard of “spider guard” are grappling who could mop the floor with most sport Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in our country.

This is a great read. I’m going to adapt @KyleShepard and go with FOFIO, for a little more rhythmic feel… ha!

This is fantastic, and I’m happy to see folks starting to trust their own experiences again. Crazy how much the layperson has ceded to “experts” and devices, how they’ve learned to ignore their hard-earned instincts in favor of someone else’s opinion of what they should be doing.

This is an important piece. Thank you.

Certainty as a sin is half the read. The other half is that the people most committed to being certain are usually the ones who refuse to update on new input. Saved this one.
